In conversation with Artist Hamda Farooq, we got to know how theme-based art can be a message.

Hamda Farooq is an artist based in Lahore. She is 21 years of age studying Business had an impatient interest in making portraits.

She explored in her childhood that traces of art lies in her, she participated in different competitions on a school level and she carry on her passion and developed her skills by herself. She is now making theme-based paintings. Her purpose for paintings is to voice out her opinion in the shape of her art. She started her official career as an artist a few years back and currently, she is working on the theme "iCONIC Series".

 "Art is an internal thing"

Art can be improved or developed by learning but the foundation of persuasion is part of human nature. Art is coming from a primitive age in form of cave paintings and its evolution is seen overthe ages. An Institution cannot find a base of art in you but can emboss only. If you are an artist, you can do a lot of things on your own.

Nowadays art can be learned at any platform but the one who has art God gifted always remains at a different level.

"Educational curriculum and Art"

The educational curriculum is doing pretty fine with the arts, we just need to promote arts a little more. At the school level, oxford has set some standards but at the university level, there are so many fields of arts also the digital arts to get in and learn.

"Existence From ancient to next generation"

Art is going on from the very ancient ages and is still evolving, which means that art especially has a future and it will exist for always. It will be valued as it is escapism for humans art cannot be depreciated. Technology also has influenced the nature of arts as seen in NFTs which are getting popular exponentially. Precisely the transformation of arts in the digital world is establishing the value of arts.

"Idea behind iCONIC Series"

Hamda started the iCONIC series because she wanted to portray the iconic people and show the world their one unique thing which made them an icon. Like she describes her recent painting of Benazir Bhutto which shows the resilient nature of Mohtarma. That resilience made her an icon in the world and Hamda wanted to show that essence to the world that what we can learn from that one unique thing.
